Challenge

Help the client's project tribes work effectively and efficiently towards the final  product release, increasing their capacity to embrace the lean principles and tools.

The approach

The coaching role we played was structured to provide design methodology and agile awareness to the tribes, and increase their ability to apply them in their work dynamics. We adopted a 4-step approach:

OUTCOME

The outcome consisted of a maturity model description of the stakeholders' and tribes' growth and a wide list of observations made during the project. Together, these tools enabled C-level stakeholders take important decisions regarding the tribes' operational model and way forward towards the product release.

MY role

My main responsibilities were to take care of coaching activities planning, execution, monitoring and analysis (mainly for one or two of the tribes) and supporting the rest of the team with coaching activities on other tribes.

Observing working and relationship dynamics during tribes' activities

Co-defining main painful areas to be improved, with corresponding CSF and monitoring plan

Coaching interventions pre-during-after tribes' operational activities

C-level stakeholders' involvement during updates & retrospectives
